Job summary

Leidos in Michigan is seeking Distribution Engineers & Designers passionate about electric utility design. You will work with clients to ensure high-quality work and gain expertise in NESC, structural modeling, GIS design training, field data collection, and client design standards.

The role blends field and office work, with opportunities to lead design packages for OH, UG, URD, and make-ready projects using DDS, GDT, GE Smallworld, Bentley, and Maximo.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred)
• Experience with electric utility design engineering.
• Knowledge of NESC.
• Knowledge of structural analysis and related calcs.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform design engineering for electric utility customers.
• Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS and design tools.
• Manage the scope, schedule, and budget of work assigned.
• Review engineering design packages with clients.
• Coordinate field and office work; site visits as needed.
• Initiate continuous improvement to workflow processes that drive efficiency and high-quality standards.
