Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s Department of Transportation seeks an Assistant District Materials Manager to guide materials testing and quality processes on regional projects. You will lead a skilled team, apply engineering principles, and support safe construction across the district.

Requirements include five years of civil engineering experience or one year with a civil engineering degree, plus an Engineer-In-Training certificate.

Qualifications

• Five years of civil engineering experience or one year with a Bachelor's in Civil Engineering.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate is required or acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee materials testing, inspections, and documentation for projects.
• Review materials to ensure they meet standards and specifications.
• Evaluate mix designs and coordinate with district leadership.
• Monitor quality plans and test results for asphalt, concrete, and aggregate.
• Provide technical guidance during construction activities.
• Lead safety practices, supervise inspectors, and support training.
