Job summary

State of Oklahoma is seeking a Business Registration Specialist to support the Business Tax Services Division by researching, reviewing, registering and processing registrations including gross production and sales tax exemptions. You will interact with taxpayers during the registration process and coordinate with other divisions for permits and licensing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business or public administration or closely related field.
• Each year of relevant experience may be substituted for each year of required education.

Responsibilities

• Researches, reviews, registers, and processes business registration and gross production applications and renewals submitted electronically and through other means.
• Reviews bonding requirements and documentation from other state agencies.
• Prepares business permits, cab cards, and other taxpayer notifications for registrations.
• Prepares sales tax exemption permits and notices for exemption registrations.
• Prepares memos and taxpayer correspondence explaining procedures, laws and regulations.
• Assists taxpayers and internal/external personnel by email, phone, and in person.
• Completes assigned work to meet production and accuracy standards.
• Resolves complex and non-complex business tax issues using appropriate resources.
