Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks an Eligibility Supervisor II - ME to oversee Appeals & Mitigation operations in AES. This role requires complex supervisory duties, compliance with policies, and coordinating eligibility determinations across programs. Knowledge of TANF/SNAP/Medicaid is essential.

Responsibilities include managing staff, interpreting rules, and ensuring timely service delivery while supporting a fast-paced environment and travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Sixty (60) semester hours from an accredited college or university required.
• Two years of relevant customer service experience may be substituted for education.
• Degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Two years’ experience as a Texas Works Advisor II or Medicaid Eligibility Specialist II required; three years preferred.
• TIERS and EWMS experience preferred.
• Experience in a professional customer service environment required.
• Experience leading, mentoring, and motivating staff with varied skill levels and experience required.

Responsibilities

• Attends work on a regular and predictable schedule in accordance with agency leave policy and performs other duties as assigned.
• Selects, manages, and develops staff through conferences, mentoring, training, and performance appraisal.
• Reads cases and provides policy interpretation.
• Prepares management reports, analyzes information to keep management informed, and responds to issues.
• Plans, coordinates, and monitors service delivery in assigned area to ensure effective and efficient program operations.
