Job summary

Atlas Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Ansible Automation Engineer with strong networking expertise to support Navy customers. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and maintaining automated network solutions across enterprise environments, leveraging Ansible, Cisco technologies, and SD-WAN.

Candidates must obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance. The position offers telework up to 2 days per week with possible travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

Must be a US Citizen
Must hold a DoD Secret Level Security Clearance
Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible, including playbooks, modules, Jinja2 templates, and dynamic inventories
Bash and shell script development experience
Background in enterprise networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, BGP, OSPF)
IPV4/IPv6 networking including subnetting, supernetting and CIDR configurations
Experience with Cisco network devices
Familiarity with Cisco SD-WAN technologies (Cisco Catalyst 8000V)
Understanding of Linux networking
Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7/8/9/10 or similar
Proficiency with YAML file structure
Experience with GitLab and JIRA
Ability to troubleshoot complex network and automation issues
Strong communication skills

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks for network operations
Serve as the technical authority for Ansible automation strategy within the network domain
Utilize Ansible to manage SD-WAN environments and Cisco network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, WAN-Os, and management nodes
Develop reusable automation patterns, standards, and best practices for network teams
Collaborate with network engineering, operations, project managers and architecture teams
Maintain documentation on automation processes, network topology impacts, and operational guides
Ensure automation solutions align with security policies (DISA STIGs, RMF), compliance, and change management
Provide knowledge transfer, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and cross-functional teams
