Job summary

Atlas Tech, a veteran-owned IT company supporting DoD customers, seeks an Ansible Automation Engineer with strong networking expertise to design, implement, and maintain automated network solutions using Ansible for Cisco devices and SD-WAN. You will develop playbooks, maintain infrastructure, and ensure security compliance.

This role offers telework up to 2 days weekly and up to 10% travel. You will collaborate across engineering, operations, and architecture teams while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• US citizen with DoD Secret clearance.
• Extensive hands-on Ansible (playbooks, modules, Jinja2, dynamic inventories).
• Bash/shell scripting experience.
• Enterprise networking fundamentals (routing, switching, firewalls, VLANs, BGP, OSPF).
• IPv4/IPv6 networking, subnetting, CIDR configurations.
• Experience with Cisco devices and Cisco SD-WAN (Catalyst 8000V).
• Linux networking and RH Linux 7/8/9/10+.
• Proficiency with YAML, GitLab and JIRA.
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Ansible playbooks, roles, and automation frameworks for network operations.
• Serve as technical authority for Ansible automation strategy within the network domain.
• Manage SD-WAN environments and Cisco network infrastructure using Ansible.
• Develop reusable automation patterns, standards, and best practices.
• Collaborate with network engineering, operations, PMs and architecture teams.
• Maintain documentation on automation processes and topology impacts.
• Ensure automation aligns with DISA STIGs, RMF, and change management.
• Provide knowledge transfer and mentorship to junior engineers.
