Job summary

Stride, Inc. (Volunteer State Virtual Academy) seeks an Academic Administrator/Principal to direct and coordinate educational, administrative and counseling activities for students, either personally or through staff.

The role emphasizes online instruction and remote operations within a Stride K12 partner school. The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in business, education or related field with experience in online education, and will travel up to 20% while supporting students and

Qualifications

Master's degree in business, education or related field.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Ability to travel 20% of the time.
Experience as an online/virtual educator.
Experience teaching in online and/or brick-and-mortar settings.
Experience with online learning platforms.

Responsibilities

Direct and coordinate educational, administrative and counseling activities of students, personally or through staff.
Ensure conformance of programs to state and local standards through evaluation and coordination.
Manage teaching and administrative staff and articulate the school’s mission and vision.
Utilize communication technologies to support a predominantly virtual/remote work environment.
Confers with teachers, students and parents on educational and behavioral issues.
Develop and oversee implementation of the school's Academic Improvement Plan.
