Job summary
AIT is seeking an Electrician and Controls Field Engineer to handle installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical wiring, panels, and equipment, with emphasis on PLCs, HMIs, and control systems.
This remote position requires 100% travel, including potential international assignments; you will perform startup/shutdown tasks, support automation on site, and document procedures for knowledge sharing.
Qualifications
- Must have demonstratable track record as an industrial electrician.
- Technician Certification or Associates degree required.
- Bachelor’s degree, PE, SSE in electrical, manufacturing, or mechanical engineering preferred but not required.
- Minimum of two-years and/or equivalent experience in PLC and HMI configuration and programming in industrial high voltage maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and wire heavy duty electrical installations and control panels.
- Troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and network interfaces.
- Start-up/shutdown procedures per OSHA and safety protocols.
- Support automation systems including alignment systems, AGVs, and heating solutions.
- Provide technical support for PLCs, HMIs, and related equipment.
- Document procedures and training materials.
