Job summary

Sortation Labs, LLC is seeking a Controls Engineer II to lead advanced control projects, including concept, design, PLC/HMI programming, wiring diagrams, and on-site installation and commissioning. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with the Engineering Manager to ensure robust, safe, and compliant control systems.

The role requires strong knowledge of AC/DC control networks, AutoCAD, and PLC programming, with travel up to 50% to customer sites.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in programming and control device networks for PLCs.
• Able to read specifications and develop complete electrical designs.

• Experience with PLC programming, debugging and commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Understand AC/DC control systems and read component cut sheets.
• Lead PLC programming, debugging, and commissioning activities.
• Design electrical diagrams and system layouts for power/control.
• Coordinate field installation, startup, and on-site support.
• Mentor entry-level engineers and contribute to technical docs.
