Job summary

The Electrical Engineer will join the corporate Electrical Engineering team and provide engineering support across the company's nationwide fleet of solar, wind, and thermal generating assets. Responsibilities include analyzing relay records, performing short-circuit and load-flow studies, developing protection schemes, and supporting NERC compliance, outages, and M&A activities.

This role offers broad exposure to event diagnosis, protection upgrades, and collaboration with plant operations

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 4 years of relevant experience in power generation, transmission, and/or distribution.
• PE license preferred; if not, 5+ years of practice.
• Knowledge of protective relaying, relay settings, and event-record analysis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose plant electrical events using relay records and plant reports; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Develop/Review relay settings and protection upgrades; support third-party designs.
• Perform short-circuit, load-flow, coordination, and arc-flash studies using ETAP or similar software.
• Support NERC PRC, MOD, FAC compliance studies, testing, audits, and regulatory submissions.
• Provide on-site support during outages and advise plant operations.
