Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or electrical engineering technology.
  • 2–6 years of relevant electrical/utility engineering experience.
  • FE/EIT preferred; progress toward PE licensure preferred.
  • Experience with power system studies using ETAP, SKM, EasyPower, PowerFactory, Milsoft.
  • Exposure to PSS/E and transmission planning tools preferred.
  • Knowledge of medium-/low-voltage power systems including distribution and substation work.
  • Utility distribution experience and coordination with utilities and vendors.
  • Experience with protective relaying and relay coordination is a plus.
  • Strong client interaction skills and ability to work with project stakeholders.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for field work and meetings.
  • Authorized to work in the United States full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Support industrial, utility, and oil & gas projects across North America focusing on power system studies.
  • Perform design activities for medium-/low-voltage power distribution systems.
  • Develop models and perform power system studies using ETAP, SKM, PSS/E, PSCAD, and similar tools.
  • Produce technical reports and recommendations based on study results.
  • Support substation, relay, and protection-related engineering activities.
  • Create one-line/three-line diagrams, control schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment specifications.
  • Coordinate with clients, utilities, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams to advance project execution.
  • Attend client meetings, document action items, and support engineering decisions.
  • Contribute from preliminary design through issued-for-construction deliverables under senior oversight.
  • Provide field, startup, and commissioning support as needed.
  • Check the work of designers and drafters for quality and accuracy.
  • Adhere to NEC, NESC, IEEE, NFPA 70E, and utility standards.
