Job summary

Onward Search is seeking an Electrical Engineer III to join a remote team supporting power systems design. The role is based in Rancho Cordova, CA 95670, full-time and requires 8+ years of experience in electrical or manufacturing engineering.

You will design electrical schematics for switchgear, specify components, and verify control sequences to ensure design intent. You will act as the main technical contact during manufacturing and testing, troubleshoot issues, and support factory witness

Qualifications

• Minimum of 8 years of experience in electrical or related engineering fields.
• Strong knowledge of electrical standards such as UL, NEC, ANSI, and IEEE.
• Proficiency with electrical design software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks Electrical, or EPLAN.
• Field service experience and familiarity with automation or high-reliability electrical assemblies are advantageous.
• Ability to provide technical mentorship and lead project development from design through validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed electrical schematics for switchgear and switchboards, aligning with customer specifications.
• Select and specify electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, and transformers based on project standards.
• Prepare and verify control sequences and system functionality in accordance with design intent.
• Act as the main technical contact during manufacturing and testing, troubleshooting issues and supporting factory witness tests.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and field teams to ensure physical system operation matches design specifications and project requirements.
