Caterpillar is seeking an Electrical Power Engineer to join the Electric Power Division in the United States. You will design, program, test, and commission generator control switchgear systems, delivering automation solutions from concept to commissioning.

You will work independently and with teams to retrofit and implement new power system projects, including documentation, training, and field support. Travel is required for project execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
• Experience with automation and control systems in industrial environments.
• Ability to design, commission, and troubleshoot PLC and HMI applications.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics and blueprints for system integration.

Responsabilités

• Identify retrofit opportunities and support proposal development with Dealer and Factory teams.
• Execute design, programming, testing, and commissioning of LV/MV generator paralleling control systems.
• Convert legacy PLC programs to current platforms and validate performance.
• Develop and modify PLC and HMI applications using standard templates.
• Collaborate with CAD designers to produce wiring and assembly drawings.
• Provide technical support to sales and product support teams; escalate as needed.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and expenses promptly.
• Train technicians, customers, and internal teams on system operation and maintenance.
