Job summary

STRM Recruiting is seeking an Electrical Designer / Project Manager to balance electrical design with proactive project leadership for diverse facilities, including K-12, higher education, healthcare, and water/wastewater projects.

You will manage client relations, develop schedules and budgets, and coordinate across disciplines, delivering safe, reliable, and code-compliant designs remotely. The role emphasizes constructability and lifecycle value with mentoring and professional growth.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5-10+ years of relevant electrical design, engineering, or project management experience.
• Commercial, industrial, municipal, or infrastructure electrical project experience.
• Ability to manage projects independently and communicate effectively with clients.
• Experience preparing and coordinating electrical construction documents.
• Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes and design standards.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multidisciplinary collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and remain accountable in a remote setting.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical design projects from planning through construction support and completion.
• Serve as a primary client contact with proactive communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
• Manage schedules, deliverables, budgets, and internal and external coordination.
• Anticipate project risks and develop practical solutions before issues escalated.
• Coordinate with engineers, designers, architects, contractors, owners, and other disciplines.
• Facilitate meetings, communicate progress, and take ownership of project outcomes.
• Develop electrical designs for diverse facilities (commercial/industrial/institutional).
• Prepare and review drawings, specifications, equipment schedules, and construction documents.
• Coordinate with instrumentation, controls, mechanical, and process engineering disciplines.
• Apply relevant electrical codes and standards; support design reviews, construction administration, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
• Emphasize safety, reliability, maintainability, constructability, and lifecycle value.
