Job summary

Woolpert, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer Designer to join our Buildings MEP team in the United States.

This role reports to the Electrical Engineering Team Leader and performs electrical design, modeling, and analysis across complex projects to ensure safety, sustainability, and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will mentor staff, develop standard practices, and provide technical direction on multiple projects.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of related experience.
• Experience with building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution, SKM analysis, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools).
• Experience with building electrical system design for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise.
• Experience designing sustainable building systems, including familiarity with LEED or Green Building Institute.
• Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software and directing the preparation of construction documents.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex documents including scientific and technical journals.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external relationships.
• Willing to travel to project sites or offices as needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical engineering technical work for complex projects.
• Develop and modify models, plans, details, and drawings of electrical systems and components to established standards.
• Design electrical systems including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, PV, battery systems, building power, lighting, and low voltage systems.
• Assist with technical reviews and deliver high-quality results.
• Conduct electrical calculations including SKM, arc flash, and photometric calculations (AGI/Elumtools).
• Provide technical direction across multiple projects of considerable scope and coordinate disciplines.
