Job summary

Eaton’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems Division (EESS) seeks an Electrical Construction Quality Engineer (QA/QC) to ensure construction activities meet design drawings, specs, and codes. This remote role in the United States involves up to 75% travel to support project execution, inspections, and quality issue resolution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or ten (10) years of experience performing quality control and/or quality assurance activities on commercial electrical construction projects.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience performing quality control and/or quality assurance activities for commercial, industrial, utility, or mission‑critical electrical construction projects.
• Experience overseeing quality control activities for electrical installation, testing, commissioning, and energization of power distribution systems and equipment.
• Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.
• Driver license with satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality control activities for EPC construction projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements, specifications, codes, and customer expectations.
• Develop and maintain project quality documentation, including Quality Management Plans, inspection reports, test records, punch lists, and closeout packages.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and quality reviews to identify defects, non‑conformances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Partner with project managers, construction managers, engineers, subcontractors, and customers to resolve quality issues and drive corrective actions.
• Review drawings, specifications, submittals, RFIs, and commissioning plans to verify constructability and quality requirements.
• Manage third‑party testing and inspection providers, including scope development and issue resolution.
• Support factory witness testing, commissioning activities, and system turnover to ensure project requirements are met prior to energization.
• Investigate equipment, installation, and warranty‑related issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Deliver quality‑related training and promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement across project teams.
• Travel to Eaton and customer sites as needed to support project execution, inspections, audits, and quality issue resolution.
