Job summary

Options For Youth Public Charter Schools seeks a certificated educator to identify and instruct English Learners with ELD support across reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The role manages a 50–75 student caseload, delivers weekly interventions, and documents progress for regional leaders.

The successful candidate administers ELPAC tests, develops ILPs for ELs, and provides targeted support to LTELs while collaborating with AR teachers to improve pedagogy and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Experience working with second language learners.
• Valid California clear or preliminary single-subject teaching credential.
• English Learner Authorization (ELA1 or similar) required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and instruct English Learners with ELD support in reading, writing, speaking and listening.
• Manage a caseload of 50–75 students and report progress to leadership monthly.
• Prepare course outlines and administer ELPAC tests to evaluate progress.
• Provide pull-out and additional support for LTELs in AR/SGI classes.
• Lead professional learning communities to support EL teachers.
