Job summary

Wells is seeking a proactive EHS Compliance Manager for remote-based work with travel to Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, and other states as needed. You will lead field safety programs, conduct inspections, and deliver OSHA training to promote a safe work culture at construction sites.

Ideal candidates will have a safety-related bachelor’s degree and several years of construction safety experience, including incident investigation and root-cause analysis. A valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, construction management, industrial hygiene or related program preferred.
• Five or more years of experience in construction safety including environmental compliance and reporting.
• OSHA 10 and 30‑hour certification in construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, implement, and maintain field safety processes to prevent injuries.
• Build and reinforce a strong safety culture with accountability across teams.
• Conduct Job Safety Analyses, site inspections, and audits; implement changes as needed.
• Deliver OSHA compliance and new hire safety training; maintain accurate records.
• Rectify unsafe acts and recognize safe behaviors to reinforce safety practices.
• Set safety goals and track progress to minimize liability and protect employees.
• Manage workers’ compensation cases and support injured employees’ return to work.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions.
• Evaluate and recommend improvements for PPE and safety equipment.
• Collaborate with leadership, safety committees, and project teams to integrate safety in daily operations.
