Job summary

Wells is seeking an EHS Field Director to lead safety, health, and environmental programs across field operations, focusing on construction safety, precast concrete erection, crane operations, and working at heights. This role drives continuous improvement in safety practices while building a strong, accountable safety culture across all job sites.

The ideal candidate will bring a proactive safety leadership style, deep construction experience, and the ability to influence teams at all levels,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Management, or related field preferred.
• 5–10 years of construction safety experience (precast, cranes, rigging, heavy construction).
• CSP (Certified Safety Professional) strongly preferred.
• OSHA 10/30 certifications; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, especially construction standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and coaching skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Promote and strengthen a culture of safety through leadership, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Conduct regular job site visits, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident and near‑miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with project teams (PMs, superintendents, foremen) to implement practical safety solutions.
• Deliver impactful safety training and communication to employees at all levels.
• Oversee safety reporting, OSHA logs, compliance documentation, and training records.
• Support workers’ compensation processes and return‑to‑work programs.
