Job summary

Wells is seeking an EHS Field Director to lead safety, health, and environmental programs across field operations, with a strong focus on construction safety, precast erection, crane operations, and working at heights. The role emphasizes driving a culture of safety and accountability on multiple job sites.

The ideal candidate will have heavy construction safety experience, CSP preferred, OSHA certifications, and the ability to travel to sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and improve EHS programs to reduce risk and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Promote a culture of safety through leadership, accountability, and engagement.
• Conduct regular job site visits, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
• Lead incident and near‑miss investigations, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Partner with project teams to implement practical safety solutions.
• Deliver impactful safety training and communication to employees at all levels.
• Oversee safety reporting, OSHA logs, compliance documentation, and training records.
• Support workers’ compensation processes and return‑to‑work programs.
• Collaborate with regulatory agencies and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coach and mentor leaders to drive safety ownership across the organization.
• Ensure environmental compliance in partnership with external stakeholders.
• Manage SPCC plans and related environmental safety duties.
• Oversee site inspections, spill reporting, and corrective actions.
• Maintain inventory of environmental safety supplies.
