Job summary

Shirley Parsons is seeking an EHS Director for a rapidly growing building services organization to lead enterprise-wide EHS and risk strategy, programs and initiatives. This role reports to the COO and offers high visibility across 1,000 employees in 21 branches across the eastern U.S.

and Canada, with a mobile field-based workforce and strong executive partnerships. The position can be based remotely in the North-East or Mid-Atlantic, with 40–50% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Risk Management, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience in field services or similar.
• Ability to influence cultural change across a dispersed frontline workforce.
• Experience using data analytics and AI-based tools to enhance EHS programs.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% across Eastern US & Canada.

Responsibilities

• Establish and improve enterprise-wide EHS and risk programs across branches.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations; conduct audits and hazard assessments.
• Lead incident investigations and track safety metrics to drive corrective actions.
• Develop safety training programs and toolbox talks for frontline teams.
• Partner with leadership on insurance, workers’ comp, and sustainability reporting; deploy AI tools.
