Job summary

The Director of EHS Operations at GAF is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting world-class safety programs across all manufacturing facilities and operations in the United States. This role reports to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety and drives a proactive, behavior-based safety culture with strong data analytics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10 years EHS experience, 5 years management of others.
• Ability to adapt to changing needs with a client-focused mindset.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives.
• Drive a zero-incident safety culture through employee engagement and accountability.
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessment and mitigation, embedding Process Safety Management and industrial hygiene.
• Develop and govern integrated EHS systems and data platforms to monitor performance and drive improvements.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety and environmental standards through audits and trend analysis.
• Oversee incident investigations and root-cause analyses, implementing corrective actions.
• Mentor EHS professionals and operational leaders through training programs.
• Travel approximately 50% domestically.
