Job summary

The Director of EHS Operations at GAF will develop and implement world‑class safety programs across manufacturing facilities, ensuring proactive, behavior-based safety culture and regulatory compliance. You will lead risk assessment, governance of EHS systems, and data-driven actions while reporting to the VP of Environmental, Health and Safety.

Ideal candidates bring 10 years of EHS experience with 5 years in management, strong communication skills, and a collaborative leadership style to guide

Qualifications

• 10 years EHS experience with leadership responsibility
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
• Excellent written and oral communication skills including presenting technical information
• Demonstrated openness to change and adaptability
• Strong interpersonal skills to build relationships with stakeholders
• Experience driving behavior-based safety culture
• Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) and industrial hygiene practices

Responsibilities

• Define and execute a comprehensive EHS strategy aligned with business objectives
• Drive a proactive, zero-incident safety culture across sites
• Lead enterprise-wide EHS risk assessments and mitigation
• Develop and govern integrated EHS management systems and data analytics
• Ensure regulatory compliance and governance of safety/environmental standards
• Oversee incident investigations and drive corrective actions
• Mentor EHS professionals and leadership; deliver training programs
• Travel about 50% domestically
