Job summary

Penguin Random House LLC is seeking an experienced Editor for BOOM! Studios, with remote-able work arrangements.

The role focuses on acquiring, developing, and delivering high-quality comic titles, managing schedules, talent relations, and creative development from inception to publication. The ideal candidate brings at least five years editing comics/graphic novels, exceptional attention to detail, and strong collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five years’ experience in comic book & graphic novel editing.
• Excellent attention to detail and proofreading; strong follow-up skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication abilities.
• Ability to work independently and with teams to meet deadlines.
• Strategic thinker with awareness of market trends influencing creative decisions.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook; Adobe Creative Suite and Airtable a plus.

Responsibilities

• Acquire new projects and develop and produce new and existing titles for the BOOM! Studios List.
• Serve as project manager and primary contact for scheduling, communication, and production for all titles.
• Provide support in Executive Editor’s office, including scheduling and talent relations.
• Negotiate contracts for new projects.
• Identify and contract new talent and retain high performers.
• Collaborate on go-to-market strategies and sales-marketing opportunities.
