Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking an experienced ED Charge Capture Specialist to support Emergency Department charging operations from Richmond, VA. The role focuses on facility-side charge capture, CPT-based charging, and review workflows within Epic.

You'll work ED charge review queues, validate facility levels, review injections/infusions, and identify bedside procedures while maintaining productivity and quality. This contract remote role offers hourly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Emergency Department facility charge capture experience.
• Experience with ED facility levels and CPT-based charging.
• Knowledge of injection and infusion charging.
• Experience reviewing bedside procedures and facility charges.
• Epic experience required.
• Strong understanding of revenue integrity and charge reconciliation.

Responsibilities

• Work ED charge review queues within Epic.
• Review encounters across ED Treat-and-Release, ED-to-Inpatient, ED-to-Observation.
• Validate ED facility levels and charging accuracy.
• Review and charge injections and infusions.
• Identify and charge bedside procedures.
• Ensure appropriate charge assignment based on documentation.
• Review inpatient and observation encounters with awareness of admit-order timing and charging periods.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards while communicating effectively through Teams and email.
