Job summary

Texas Sports Academy is seeking a fully remote Dyslexia Specialist to support students with dyslexia and related reading differences from anywhere in the U.S. You will deliver reading intervention and structured literacy support via video, aiming to close gaps and help students access the same curriculum as their peers.

You bring substantive experience in structured literacy methods, evidence-based practices, and a track record of measurable reading gains.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering structured literacy instruction to students with dyslexia.
• Training in Orton-Gillingham, Wilson Reading System, LETRS, or comparable structured literacy program.
• Ability to read a student’s assessment data, identify the next instructional steps, and communicate plans to parents and staff.
• Comfortable in an athletic youth environment and able to build trust with student-athletes.
• Bachelor’s degree in education, special education, reading, speech-language pathology, or a related field.
• Location: Remote (U.S.)

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one and small-group structured literacy sessions over video using an evidence-based approach tailored to each student.
• Monitor progress with running records and curriculum-based measures, adjusting plans as needed.
• Collaborate with guides and athletic coaches to apply accommodations consistently across the day.
• Provide regular updates to parents on strategies, progress, and next steps, and coach families on how to reinforce reading at home.
• Support students with text-to-speech, audiobooks, and other accessibility tools in the online learning environment.
