Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a dyslexia specialist to provide intensive reading and spelling instruction aligned with TEA Dyslexia Handbook. You will deliver core content while embedding structured literacy strategies in small groups.

The role requires collaboration with the Dyslexia Office and classroom teachers, ongoing progress monitoring, and parental communication to support student growth and transitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university required; Master's degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Texas Teaching certification required; ESL or Bilingual certification preferred; CALP/CALT/LDP/LDT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides intensive accelerated instruction in small group settings.
• Creates an interactive classroom where students actively participate during each lesson.
• Plans, organizes, manages, and implements lesson activities.
• Monitors and documents student progress, and reports progress to the Dyslexia Office and general education teacher(s).
• Maintains ongoing communications with classroom teachers and Dyslexia Office to ensure a successful transition for students.
