Job summary

R1 RCM, Inc. is seeking a DRG Associate Auditor (Analyst) to validate coding updates that affect DRGs on claims and enhance reimbursement and compliance for clients.

You will pre-screen cases and document evidence-based recommendations using industry references. The role requires acute inpatient coding experience, AHIMA credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS), and proficiency with major EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).

Qualifications

• Four or more years of ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement experience, including recent acute inpatient coding experience.
• Current AHIMA credential, such as RHIA, RHIT, or CCS.
• Experience with multiple electronic medical record systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate coding updates impacting the diagnosis-related group on a claim and potential reimbursement or coding education for the client.
• Provide detailed rationale and supporting evidence for recommendations.
• Audit a specific rule set and pre-screen opportunities for the DRG Validation Auditing Team.
