Job summary

R1 RCM Inc. is seeking a DRG Associate Auditor (Analyst) to validate coding updates that influence DRG groups and reimbursement.

You will document evidence-based recommendations and pre-screen cases for the DRG Validation Auditing Team, using industry references to support findings. The role requires at least four years of ICD-10 coding and DRG experience, acute inpatient coding, and AHIMA credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS).

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Four+ years ICD-10 coding and DRG reimbursement experience.
• Recent acute inpatient coding experience required.
• Current AHIMA credential (RHIA, RHIT or CCS) preferred.
• Experience with multiple EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Validate coding updates that affect DRG and potential reimbursement.
• Provide evidence-based rationale for recommendations.
• Audit rules and pre-screen opportunities for the DRG team.
