somewhere is seeking a Drayage Operations Coordinator to own intake, track & trace, and customer support remotely within U.S. Pacific business hours.

This full-time role reports to the Operations / Back Office Lead and focuses on accurate data management across the container lifecycle. The position emphasizes data accuracy, proactive communication, and continuous improvement in shipment workflows, with a modern TMS and real-time tracking tools.

Qualifications

• Fluent, professional written and spoken English (this is an email-heavy, customer-facing role).
• 1–3+ years in logistics, freight, trucking, 3PL back office, dispatch, or operations support.
• Comfort working inside a TMS and in spreadsheets (Excel / Google Sheets).
• Self-directed and proactive, with a reliable home office setup and stable internet.

Responsibilities

• Receive customer emails containing container details and enter into our TMS and tracking sheet.
• Maintain clean, consistent records and reduce duplicate-entry errors.
• Keep each shipment's information current as status changes.
• Monitor port appointments, container availability, and last-free-days to prevent demurrage.
• Secure pickup and empty-return appointments in a timely manner.
• Flag holds, delays, and exceptions early and escalate when needed.
• Proactively update customers on container status and delivery dates.
• Respond to customer inquiries via email and occasional inbound calls.
• Collect proof of delivery and required documents and attach to shipments.
• Verify files are complete before handing off to accounting for invoicing.
