Job summary

The Center for Biological Diversity is seeking a Donor Relations Manager to lead a small team, oversee multi-channel fundraising campaigns, and steward Leadership Circle donors. Hybrid work supports collaboration with Membership Director and cross-team partners.

You will design stewardship plans, manage portfolios, and ensure timely, high-quality donor communications while advancing the organization’s mission.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of proven fundraising experience with donor focus.
• Superior verbal and written communication skills.
• Extensive experience with donor relation management databases.
• Excellent supervisory skills managing 2–3 staff.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Analytical with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong data skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Motivated, proactive, and able to drive campaigns.
• Experience in rapid-response fundraising campaigns.
• Strong project management and meeting deadlines.
• Commitment to the Center for Biological Diversity’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Plan and oversee multiple fundraising campaigns to grow Leadership Circle giving.
• Provide year-round stewardship to Leadership Circle members.
• Manage donor relations staff and ensure quality communications.
• Ensure timely inbound communications are addressed with care.
• Cultivate a donor portfolio and support staff portfolios.
• Review data and tailor communications to donor preferences.
• Plan and support donor events and webinars, including follow-up.
• Respond quickly to breaking news with rapid communications.
• Stay current on environmental trends and donor stewardship best practices.
• Assist with other projects as assigned.
