Job summary

The Union of Concerned Scientists is seeking a Development Communications Specialist to advance fundraising content that supports Major Gifts and Family Foundations. This permanent remote role works with the Development team to translate program priorities into donor-facing narratives that drive impact and sustainable support.

The position collaborates with Major Gifts, Stewardship, Membership, and other Development teams to produce compelling proposals, reports, and donor communications

Qualifications

5-7 years of nonprofit fundraising experience.
At least 5 years in development writing.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Major gifts or foundations fundraising experience a plus.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and complex projects.
Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration.

Responsibilities

Develop donor communications collateral for Major Gifts and Family Foundations.
Translate program priorities into donor-facing narratives.
Coordinate portfolio-wide communications and materials.
Prepare donor briefing materials and edit copy.
Maintain donor proposal calendars and manage vendors.
