Job summary

OpenTrain AI seeks a DoD Staff Writing AI Training Expert to develop and assess training materials for AI systems supporting DoD staff‑writing tasks. You will contribute examples, model responses, evaluation standards, and feedback focused on accuracy, tone, structure, compliance, and audience awareness.

The role centers on recurring and ad hoc reporting formats such as WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports, with a strong emphasis on federal language and standards.

Qualifications

• At least three years of U.S. Department of Defense experience.
• Hands-on experience producing WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, or comparable staff-writing artifacts.
• Ability to evaluate AI-generated staff writing against professional standards.
• Familiarity with DoD terminology and federal reporting requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Careful attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Develop prompts, input artifacts, and golden responses for WARs, SITREPs, executive summaries, and performance reports.
• Create grading guidelines for scoring AI-generated staff writing against DoD standards and reporting expectations.
• Produce realistic report artifacts based on federal language, organization, and formats.
• Design and review tests for AI summarization and reporting capabilities.
• Refine prompts and rubrics through feedback cycles and support weekly, monthly, and ad hoc reporting formats.
