Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Transportation seeks a District Environmental Manager for District 4-0 to lead environmental reviews, guide policy, and ensure compliance with laws and project timetables. You will supervise analysts, manage permit activities, monitor programs like MS4 and Environmental Management Program, and help shape stormwater design and maintenance policies.

This is a full-time role with telework options subject to PA residency and approval.

Qualifications

• Seven years of professional planning experience in local, regional, or state planning including two years in a supervisory capacity.
• Two years of experience as an Environmental Planning Supervisor.
• Master's degree in planning or environmental sciences with five years of professional planning experience, including two years in a supervisory capacity.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate environmental analyses and guide preparation of required reports.
• Support waterway permitting activities and ensure permit requirements are met.
• Assist with monitoring and improving district programs related to Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System and Strategic Environmental Management Program.
• Help shape district policies for stormwater control measure design and maintenance.
• Manage district commitments involving environmental mitigation and related inspections.
