Job summary

Leidos in Southern Louisiana is seeking Distribution Engineers who are passionate about electric utility design engineering. You will perform design engineering, develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects, and ensure high-quality client deliverables within a supportive team.

This role requires 2+ years of experience, a BS in an ABET-accredited engineering program, and strong NESC knowledge.

Qualifications

2+ years of prior relevant experience.
Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil or Industrial) from an ABET-accredited program.
Knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code (NESC).

Responsibilities

Perform design engineering for Leidos electric utility customers and QC tasks.
Develop work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready, and Street Light projects using GIS/work management systems.
Coordinate with engineers and design leads on client issues, managing scope, schedule, and budget.
Review engineering design packages with clients and perform planning and follow-up.
Analyze scope of work and maintain schedule adherence to client priorities.
Drive continuous improvement to workflow processes for higher quality deliverables.
Coordinate with utilities and manage design packages for complex cable/conduit projects in urban areas.
