Job summary

Devoted is seeking a Director of Utilization Management Operations to lead a large onshore team and manage an extensive offshore vendor network. The role emphasizes improving SLA performance, scaling processes, and delivering fast, accurate authorizations within an increasingly AI-enhanced platform.

The role reports to the VP of Health Services and includes driving measurable KPIs, cross-functional collaboration, and a path toward a more efficient and empathetic patient experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience leading high-volume operations with consistent SLA performance.
• Ability to map end-to-end processes and redesign for speed and scalability.
• Curiosity to question existing steps before improving them.
• Strong metrics mindset; able to drive decisions from data.
• Experience partnering with product and engineering; interest in AI-enabled tools.
• Vendor management experience with clear performance standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own SLA performance for administrative steps supporting authorization reviews.
• Monitor Part B medical authorization turnaround times and remove barriers to on-time decisions.
• Map and redesign administrative processes for speed, consistency, and simplicity.
• Shape Orinoco roadmap with Product and Engineering; leverage AI tools.
• Design processes that are highly measurable and monitor KPIs with Data Science.
• Lead ~50 onshore UM Administrative Coordinators and manage offshore vendor partnerships.
• Collaborate with Provider Network to design touchpoints for providers and members.
• Work with Senior Director of UM and other teams to keep operations aligned and audit-ready.
