Job summary

Lee Health seeks a Director of Outpatient Facility Coding to lead and optimize the outpatient coding and reimbursement integrity program. The role directs daily operations through managers and supervisors while aligning with CMS guidelines and the Lee Health Compliance Plan.

The ideal candidate has a strong background in facility coding, leadership, and cross-department collaboration to ensure data quality and compliant documentation across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of facility coding experience.
• Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience.
• At least one coding certification from AAPC or AHIMA.
• Associates degree in health information management or related field required; bachelor's preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain the medical record coding and reimbursement compliance plan for outpatient facilities.
• Plan, organize, direct, and control day-to-day operations of the Outpatient Facility coding department.
• Drive consistency and efficiency in outpatient claims processing and data collection to optimize ICD-10, CPT and APC reimbursement.
• Collaborate with leadership in Central Business Office, Revenue Integrity, HIM, Informatics, Compliance and Quality Documentation Improvement to optimize workflows and education.
