Job summary

CannonDesign is seeking an experienced Director of Software to lead the FOS Core and Simplebid product teams across national markets in the United States. You will shape architecture, drive modern engineering practices, and partner with cross-functional leaders to deliver scalable, high-quality software.

You will guide architecture initiatives, manage on-shore and off-shore teams, and ensure security, reliability, and performance to meet SLAs and customer needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. Advanced degree or equivalent experience preferred.
• Minimum of 12 years of qualifying experience in engineering leadership and scaling teams.

Responsibilities

• Define and communicate the technical vision and strategy for our software products and align with company goals.
• Oversee scalable, robust, and secure architecture with the Digital Products team.
• Drive adoption of best practices in software engineering, including coding standards and DevOps.
• Mentor, recruit, and develop a high-performing engineering team and conduct performance reviews.
• Collaborate with product management, design, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews are in place and maintained.
