Job summary

Alpha Lion is seeking a Director of Retention to own our end-to-end retention engine. The role blends strategy with hands-on work across data, platforms, and the post-purchase journey to maximize customer lifetime value.

You will lead a team and partner with Brand, Growth, Product, and Operations to optimize offers, messaging, and lifecycle programs, ultimately driving higher NRR and revenue.

Qualifications

• 7-10+ years in Retention, Lifecycle/CRM, or Subscription growth within DTC e-commerce, including leadership roles.
• Proven impact with retention metrics and revenue growth.
• Experience with modern retention tech stack (email, SMS, push) and data integration.

Responsibilities

• Own the retention calendar end-to-end including offers, incentives, LTOs, launches, cross-sell, and reactivation.
• Own subscription performance metrics: take rate, churn, reactivation, LTV/LTR, contribution margin.
• Build scaleable subscription and loyalty experiences from onboarding to offboarding.
• Lead lifecycle and CRM end-to-end (Email, SMS, Push) with automated journeys and testing.
• Develop a customer intelligence engine using behavior data, cohorts, and NPS.
• Lead a lean, high-performing retention team with clear KPIs and cadences.
