Ladders is seeking a Director of Quality Engineering for Primary Care to lead quality strategy and execution across a defined portfolio within a healthcare environment.

This remote role focuses on embedding quality in the lifecycle, driving modernization, automation-first practices, and AI-enabled capabilities to strengthen engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering, quality engineering, or related fields.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in quality engineering or software delivery teams.
• Experience managing quality engineering across multiple agile teams or complex portfolios.
• Proven track record in quality engineering modernization and metrics-driven execution.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.
• Familiarity with distributed systems and modern application architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering strategy and execution across a defined portfolio.
• Develop quality engineering managers and teams, with a focus on talent growth and performance.
• Establish quality goals, KPIs, and governance to improve delivery and stability.
• Embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Oversee comprehensive test strategy and execution across multiple testing types.
• Manage portfolio-level quality risks, including defect trends and release concerns.
• Drive automation-first practices and integrate quality signals into CI/CD pipelines.
• Promote AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities and innovative practices.
