Job summary

Blacksmith Agency, a remote-friendly marketing firm, seeks a Director of Performance Marketing to lead PPC and SEO. You will guide the PPC strategist and SEO strategist, set the quality bar, review audits, and own client reporting and GA4 accuracy.

This is a senior leadership role with firm ownership of results and escalation when needed. You will manage channel strategy, budget decisions, and align with sales on credible delivery.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO with hands-on ownership of campaigns.
• Depth in Google Ads, GA4, Search Console, Meta and Microsoft Ads.
• Experience managing strategists or specialists and making performance calls.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when accounts underperform.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Performance Marketing department, directing PPC and SEO strategies.
• Define quality standards, audits, reports, and accountable outcomes.
• Drive client results and ensure honest reporting and GA4 accuracy.
• Own escalation process when accounts are at risk and lead client calls.
• Set channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Contribute to sales by outlining credible deliverables and results.
• Lead hiring plans and conduct first-round interviews for the team.
