Job summary

Blacksmith Agency is seeking a Director of Search Marketing to lead the PPC and SEO teams. You will own channel strategy, budgets, and client results, while strategists handle execution. This is a management seat, not an IC role.

You will establish audits, reporting standards, and ensure GA4 accuracy. You’ll be the client-facing owner during underperforming periods, and you’ll drive hiring of your department within about a quarter.

Qualifications

• 7+ years across paid media and SEO.
• Experience owning channel strategy and budgets across multiple accounts.
• Comfortable being the client-facing owner when accounts are underperforming.
• Agency experience carrying many accounts at once.

Responsibilities

• Own channel strategy and budget allocation as accounts scale.
• Set quality standards for audits, reporting, and account review.
• Ensure honest reporting and GA4 accuracy across client work.
• Handle escalations when an account is at risk and work with strategists to fix issues.
• Lead hiring plans and conduct first-round interviews for your team within a quarter.
