Maximus is seeking a Director of Network Engineering to lead network strategy, architecture, and delivery for a remote role. You will guide a high-performing team across Network Operations, Engineering, and Architecture, ensuring on-time, on-budget delivery while advancing automation and cloud-first initiatives.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in enterprise networking, strong leadership, and proficiency in AWS/Azure, ITIL practices, and modern security controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience leading and developing teams of high-performing engineering professionals in complex enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of modern enterprise networking architectures, resiliency design, SRE, security, observability, and performance optimization.
• Practical experience with public, private, and hybrid cloud environments; cloud networking, security, and infrastructure services (AWS/Azure).
• Expertise in automation, DevOps, IaC, and cloud-native networking concepts.
• Knowledge of WAN/LAN, Wireless, Routing, Switching, Security, Firewalls, SD-WAN, SASE, NAC, and monitoring platforms.
• Experience with ITIL processes, SLAs, and service delivery metrics.
• Ability to translate networking strategy into enterprise-wide, measurable outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder influence and cross-functional leadership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop the network strategy and roadmap aligned to business and technology objectives.
• Provide direction and manage work across Network Operations, Engineering, and Architecture teams.
• Ensure network services projects are delivered on-time and within budget.
• Monitor SLAs and drive improvements in service delivery performance.
• Champion automation, Agile, DevOps, and IaC to improve quality and speed.
• Lead evolution of network technologies to support cloud-first strategies.
• Create repeatable processes, standards, and governance for high-quality network services.
• Partner with stakeholders to align capabilities with business needs.
• Develop talent through coaching, workforce planning, and career development.
• Drive network modernization across public, private, hybrid clouds and emerging tech.
