Job summary

Nectar Inc. is seeking a hands-on Director of Instructional Design to lead how customers and our design team use Curie, Nectar's AI-enabled course design software, to reduce costs and accelerate development.

This player-coach role directs a distributed team of instructional designers, including contractors, while staying hands-on with customer training, product testing, and proposals. Remote within the US, reporting to the COO.

Qualifications

Minimum 5+ years of instructional design experience in higher education, online and hybrid.
Minimum 2+ years leading or directing instructional designers, including remote staff.
Strong command of instructional design models and learning science (ADDIE, backward design, UDL).
Experience training or consulting with faculty and academic stakeholders.
Experience scoping ID work for proposals, statements of work, or project estimates.
Working knowledge of multiple LMSs (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L Brightspace, Moodle).

Responsibilities

Advise and train customers on implementing Curie with their faculty, including onboarding sessions and guides.
Lead a distributed team of instructional designers, including contractors, remotely.
Establish and maintain instructional design standards for Curie-produced work, ensuring WCAG accessibility.
Serve as ID SME for Product Development, weighing in on features and roadmap.
Scope ID work for RFPs and proposals and ensure delivery within scope, budget, and timeline.
