Job summary

GAF is seeking a Director of Automation and Control Systems to oversee the Automation & Controls team, partner with engineering, and drive continuous innovation across manufacturing facilities. You will influence capital planning and ensure alignment with manufacturing optimization initiatives while maintaining strong cross-functional collaboration.

Leading a team across multiple locations, you will promote safety, integrate systems, and ensure project execution from development to deployment,

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering required.
10+ years of manufacturing experience.
Experience leading Automation & Controls projects across multiple locations.
Proven leadership of a team, directly or indirectly.
Proven ability to build relationships and partnerships.
Working knowledge of CAD, HMI development, PLCs, G-Suite and diagnostic tools.

Responsibilities

Manage all functions of the Automation and Controls team.
Contribute to 3 & 5 year capital plans for facilities.
Collaborate with IT, Process Services, and R&D to integrate Automation and Controls.
Oversee capital projects, budgeting, and financial reporting for the team.
Ensure documentation for controls systems is current and aligned with projects.
Provide leadership and promote a collaborative, customer-focused environment.
