Job summary

The American Red Cross is seeking a Fundraising Communications and Enablement Director. This fully remote role can be located anywhere in the USA and leads strategic fundraising communications, messaging, and materials to support regional and national growth.

You will oversee development of donor-focused strategies, evaluate messaging effectiveness, and collaborate across departments to drive engagement and fundraising success.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, presentation, and training skills with the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audiences.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to develop project plans, budgets, and strategic approaches that support organizational objectives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop comprehensive communications plans for fundraising initiatives.
• Mentor, manage, and develop a team of communications professionals.
• Partner with senior executives to ensure consistent and effective messaging across initiatives.
• Utilize storytelling strategies to support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with national and regional marketing teams to develop and execute fundraising communications campaigns.
• Manage complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Create and oversee communications content, including talking points, key messages, press releases, social media posts, newsletters, FAQs, product information sheets, and other materials.
• Serve as the lead for external communications and public relations activities.
