Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a Director of Fundraising Communications and Enablement. This fully remote role can be located anywhere in the USA. You will lead messaging, case development, and fundraising concepts aligned with organizational priorities and growth.

You will manage end-to-end communications and engagement initiatives, collaborate across departments, and translate priorities into compelling fundraising narratives while guiding development strategies and donor engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop comprehensive communications plans for fundraising initiatives.
• Mentor and develop a team of communications professionals.
• Partner with senior executives to ensure consistent messaging.
• Utilize storytelling to support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with national and regional marketing teams on campaigns.
• Manage complex, large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders.
• Create and oversee talking points, key messages, press releases, social posts, newsletters, FAQs, product sheets.
• Serve as lead for external communications and public relations.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with communications standards and reputation management.
• Develop content for RedCross.org and social platforms.
• Support visibility and fundraising success through strategic communications.
