Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a strategic Fundraising Communications & Enablement Director. This fully remote role can be located anywhere in the USA and leads the central hub for fundraising messaging and materials across regional and national levels.

You will provide strategic leadership, develop communications initiatives to advance fundraising goals, and collaborate with departments and external partners to improve donor engagement and program impact.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop comprehensive communications plans for fundraising initiatives.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of communications professionals.
• Partner with senior executives to ensure consistent messaging across initiatives.
• Utilize storytelling strategies to support fundraising efforts.
• Collaborate with national and regional marketing teams to develop campaigns.
• Manage large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders and priorities.
• Create and oversee communications content (talking points, key messages, press releases, social posts, newsletters, FAQs, product sheets).
• Serve as lead for external communications and public relations activities.
• Build relationships with internal and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with ARC communications standards and issues management.
• Develop content for RedCross.org, The Exchange, Red Cross social platforms.
• Support visibility and fundraising through strategic communications.
