Job summary

Common Cause seeks a Director, State Election Protection Program to lead our election protection efforts in Georgia and Wisconsin, while supporting programs in other states as needed. This full-time, temporary role begins August 1, 2026 and ends February 5, 2027, reporting to the Senior Vice President, States.

The position is remote anywhere in the lower 48 United States, with a preference for someone who can work in Central and Eastern time zones and travel 4–5 days per month.

Qualifications

• Experience leading coalitions or groups with diverse interests.
• Knowledge of national political dynamics and funders at the national level.
• Experience leading campaigns on democracy, elections or civil rights.
• Ability to translate strategy into action across multiple states.

Responsibilities

• Lead state election protection programs in Georgia and Wisconsin.
• Develop and execute protection plans aligned with the election strategy.
• Lead state coalition meetings and cross-state learning sessions.
• Act as spokesperson for Common Cause in coalition spaces and media.
• Create reports for coalitions and funders.
• Build and maintain relationships with voting or election partners.
• Travel 4–5 days per month to required locations.
• Coordinate with the Senior Vice President, States and Election Protection team.
