Job summary

All Voting Is Local seeks a Regional Director for State Campaigns & Programs to provide strategic leadership to State Directors, ensure state program alignment, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration across the organization.

Reporting to the EVP States, you will translate priorities into coordinated state strategies, oversee leadership development, and represent the organization in national coalitions while guiding state teams to execute effectively.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience.
• 12-15 years of leadership experience in advocacy, organizing, campaigns, public policy, civic engagement, democracy reform, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience managing experienced managers, with a demonstrated ability to coach, develop, and lead high-performing leaders.
• Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-state or multi-regional programs, campaigns, or initiatives that require strategic coordination across diverse political and organizational environments.
• Proven ability to provide executive-level strategic counsel and thought partnership to senior leaders navigating complex political, organizational, and operational challenges.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise State Directors with strategic guidance and accountability.
• Coach and mentor senior leaders across multi-state programs.
• Foster collaboration and leadership development across state programs.
• Ensure consistent leadership, planning, and evaluation across states.
• Identify opportunities, risks, and pivots during cycles.
• Align state work with Communications, Policy & Analytics, Development, and Operations.
• Translate national priorities into state-level implementation.
• Represent All Voting Is Local in national coalitions and partner meetings.
• Build external partnerships with movement organizations and funders.
• Oversee campaign strategy development pairing advocacy, communications, and coalitions.
• Support hiring, onboarding, and leadership development within States & Campaigns.
• Maintain an inclusive, transparent leadership culture.
